Joe Paterno's name has been erased from this community except the name on the Library and the Creamery's Ice cream flavor Peachy Paterno. Is this warranted or not?
Paterno has been a legendary figure in the State College community for decades. Penn State University, it's students and most of all his players were things that he strived to support and help grow. Paterno has donted money, time and his knowledge to Penn State and its members. He put his entire self into the well-being of this university thus he would do anything to defend it including preventing a scandal from leaking out and tarnising the reputation of the university and students he loved so much. This is why people still should maintain respect for his name. He may not have been proactive in solving the problem at hand but he did not contribute. He just wasn't involved. He has done too much for Penn State for us not to be grateful for his services and respectful of him after his passing.
